In association with Karl Lagerfeld, Shirine Zirak has designed two high-end residential towers in Taiwan, featuring luxury apartments, restaurants, fitness centres, swimming pools, and social areas. The towers are ideally located, surrounded by museums, hotels, residential buildings, and various other services, creating a strong presence in the urban landscape.
These towers, a testament to the combined creative genius of Zirak and Lagerfeld, stand tall, elegant, and refined, with an exceptional attention to detail across both the facades and the interior décor and public spaces. The wall and floor coverings, the furniture and lighting, were custom-made for this project. The project draws inspiration from French classicism, expressed through controlled lines, noble materials like glass, metal, lacquer, and straw marquetry, and cutting-edge technology, including the use of translucent concrete in the lobby. The colour palette—dominated by black, white, gold, and silver—harmonizes with the overall design, reflecting the timeless elegance that KL & SZ envisioned.
Set to be completed in 2025, the towers strike a perfect balance between tradition and modernity. The facades, wrapped in a unique backlit translucent concrete, act as luminous screens, creating a striking visual effect.
Interior Architecture: The interior concept draws from classical French architecture, reinterpreted in a modern style. Shirine Zirak achieves a sense of perfection through symmetrical compositions and proportional balance. The design plays with contrasts—black and white, gold and silver—creating a sophisticated and timeless atmosphere.
This project was executed with the complicity of the great landscaper Mitani Yasuhiko and the urban sculptor Wolfgang Buttress and many French master craftsmen who ensured the accuracy and successfully translated the vision of Karl Lagerfeld and Shirine Zirak into a luxury masterpiece.
