Jay Ahr Showroom, New-York

This showroom apartment with its ideal location doubles as a private home. The large windows offer a towering view over Madison Avenue and its luxury boutiques.
This French fashion designer wanted to bring Parisian style to Manhattan. He asked Shirine Zirak to bring the spirit of French classicism to his New York apartment and showroom.
Offering a radical change in its atmosphere, Shirine Zirak transformed this apartment into a miniature revisited version of Versailles, replicating the Petit Trianon in a succession of rooms with the most impressive use of volume.
To bring her vision to life, she added mouldings and cornices, preciously carved in stucco on the walls and ceilings, crystal Baccarat chandelier, old mirrors, and marble. She modernised the classic aesthetic by combining it with raw material such as wood and metal.
Shirine Zirak used custom pieces to furnish the space: white marble benches, sofa upholstered in a glossy brown velvet, silk and wool curtains.
The walls of an alcove are covered in mirrors, creating endless reflections. A sizeable corridor is turned into an open dressing room, used to present evening gowns. In the modern and minimalist kitchen, artworks and vintage wine bottles share shelf space. Two pieces by Justine Lieberman hang near a couple Mouton-Rothschild.
The centre piece is the dining room doubling as an office, with its sizeable marble table engraved with the designer’s name and surrounded by eight Napoleon III chairs.
