This project’s client, who works in manufacturing, was keen to create a peaceful place surrounded by nature for him and his family. This 4,000 m2 villa was built in a large and magnificent one-hectare park, home to several centuries-old oak trees.
The building is over two levels with the reception rooms (dining room, kitchen…) on the ground floor, bedrooms and private areas upstairs and services and technical rooms underground. A monumental double staircase takes from one floor to the other. On both levels, great terraces and balconies are an opportunity to enjoy the natural surroundings.
When it comes to interior design and decoration, Shirine Zirak paid great attention to details, especially when choosing materials such as rare marbles, semi-precious stones, nacre, gold-plated glass mosaic, wood inlay. The same mindset led to combining choices of custom-made objects, thrifted antiques and works of art for lighting items and furniture.
Only top tier craftsmen and women were chosen to work on this project.
The independent building housing the swimming pool was built close to the house with a gallery leading from one to the other. The sizeable swimming pool has built-in jacuzzi, changing rooms, a hammam and a sauna, a massage room and a gym. The cathedral ceiling and its 10-meter height, the round bay windows on all sides, allow for the swimmers to enjoy a magnificent view of the surrounding mountains. The interior of the building was conceived with an aviary in mind. Within the pool and on the ceiling, a Sicis glass mosaic shows a flock of bird flying across a cloudy sky. The floor, walls, pilasters and their capitals are covered with rare marble. In between the pilasters, the great murals painted by a renowned artist further set the tone, creating an additional vegetal surrounding. A beautiful bronze spiral staircase leads to the upper level and the gallery.
The final touch to this luxurious and delicate scene is the artificial lake in the surrounding park with its fountains. Boats on the water, fountain streams enhanced by strategic lighting create an ethereal atmosphere of fantasy.
